Welcome to Lucy's Hideaway. A charming self catering cottage for two people tucked away behind an archway, in the historic village of Baigneux les Juifs with a population of just 245. We are proud to launch this comfortable village house new for the 2017 season. Offering guaranteed charm, style and comfort to enhance your visit to this delightful area of Burgundy.
The house is conveniently located close enough to walk to the amenities of the village which include a small supermarket and depot du pain (for the all important daily bread!) a cafe/restaurant, butcher, pharmacy and tabac/presse.
Recently renovated to the owners high standards, Lucy's Hideaway accommodates two adults (plus a baby) in a stylish upstairs double bedroom, with beautiful en-suite shower room and double aspect windows overlooking the private courtyard and terrace below. An old oak staircase twists down to a well designed, characterful living space, including a well equipped kitchen with modern appliances, dining area and a relaxing lounge area with UK free to air TV and DVD player and Wi-Fi. This room opens out onto the outside courtyard where a sunny terrace space suitable for al-fresco dining awaits. In addition to the dining space, there is a spacious grassy area beyond for lounging in the sun and barbecuing. All tucked away in a private courtyard.
Close to the main attractions of the area, this new holiday accommodation is the perfect base for exploring the region. Under 30 minutes drive from the property: Venarey les Laumes is your practical go-to town for grocery shopping and fuel, plus other handy shops. The beautiful village of Flavigny sur Ozerain, a must-see hill top delight famed for the film 'Chocolat' starring Juliette Binoche and Johnny Depp enjoys a quintessential french charm and is just 15 minutes away. The historic town of Semur en Auxois has amazing ramparts and medieval architecture, and the not-to-be-missed 13th century world famed U.N.E.S.C.O Abbaye de Fontenay is a real star of the area. The Canal de Bourgogne is great for walking and slowing down the pace also within a short drive. Slightly further afield is the majestic city of Dijon with it's deep history, superb shopping, Duke's palace and a fantastic indoor market, a masterpiece of metal and glass designed by Eiffel. Prestigious Beaune, the capital of Burgundy's wine industry and the perfect place for a day trip, which must be sure to include a tasting and a look around the Hospice de Beaune, founded in 1443 by Nicolas Rolin. Lucy's Hideaway is perfect base for exploring all that Burgundy has to offer from the local cheeses of the village markets to the prestigious wineries and chateaux.
